01Alterations

Most of it is fixable.

Sleeves too long. Waist too big. A dress that fits everywhere except one place. Trousers that have never been the right length since the day you bought them.

That is most of what comes through the door, and most of it is a straightforward job. Bring it in and we will tell you what it needs. If it is not worth doing, we will tell you that too.

Sleeves, waist, length. Shoulders when it is worth it, and honest advice when it is not.

On the same street since 1998.

We opened in the Upper Kirby District in 1998 and we are still here. Same neighbourhood, same bench, same work.

That is not nostalgia. It means the person who hems your trousers has been doing it a very long time, and it means that if something is wrong you know exactly where to find us.

Alterations are the everyday work. Custom is the other side of the bench.

A suit, a tuxedo, a shirt, cut to your measurements rather than to an average of everybody's. It takes longer and it costs more, and for the right person it is worth both.

Do you tailor for both men and women?
Yes. Suits, shirts and trousers for men, dresses and professional attire for women, and alterations for both. Womenswear gets the same bench and the same hands as everything else.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk in. Bring the garment to 3801 Kirby Dr, Suite 100 in Upper Kirby and we will look at it with you. If you would rather call ahead, the number is (713) 520-6090.
What is the difference between alterations and custom tailoring?
Alterations change a garment you already own so it fits you. Custom tailoring builds a new garment from cloth to your measurements. We do both, on the same bench, since 1998.
